A Journey from Wounds to Wealth

Before I went to sleep the other night, I was working diligently on my eBook about Wealth Creation. As I drifted off, I had a dream that took me back to my school days. The setting was familiar—a school environment filled with people from my past, from elementary to high school.

When I woke up, the dream lingered in my mind, bringing to the surface an old wound that I realized had been impacting me, especially in my journey toward Wealth Creation.

The Wounds of My Past

To give you some backstory, from elementary through high school, my parents sent me to a prestigious private school. The tuition fees were high, and we had to buy all our supplies, including uniforms, books and notebooks, directly from the school.

Most of the students there were well-off, and while I'm grateful for the opportunity, the reality was that we couldn't really afford it. My father was the sole breadwinner, and his salary barely covered our needs and affording that school was a significant effort.

There were many times when I couldn't take exams because we hadn't paid my tuition fee. We paid in installments, and I often found myself standing in line at the registrar's office with a promissory note in hand. The pain of preparing for exams, only to be told I couldn't take the exams was profound. Despite being a consistent honor student, these experiences took a toll on my confidence, self-esteem, and view of money.

The feeling of being an outcast grew stronger when my classmates went out for social activities that I couldn't afford to join. The sense of not belonging was intense. This situation worsened when my parents separated during my first year of high school.

The struggles continued in college although I received discounts and became a dean's lister. I still handed in promissory notes and worried constantly about whether I could continue my studies. Eventually, I decided to stop studying and start working because the financial stress was too overwhelming.

Confronting My Pain

Most people look back at their student years with fond memories.

For me, this phase of life is something I’d rather forget. Yet, I'm writing about it now because I want to heal from these wounds. I've suppressed these feelings for a long time, but now they are resurfacing, causing pain once again. I want to acknowledge these wounds, accept that I'm bruised, and express this pain so I can finally move forward. By doing so, I hope to stop it from impacting my present and the future I am creating.

This recent dream feels like a message from the Universe, prompting me to face this suppressed pain. The question is whether I will escape from it again or choose to heal. I am choosing to heal.
